Sampling Recommendations

Sampling Recommendations:

Samples for virus & parasite analysis are to be collected in chemically sterilised or clean containers thoroughly rinsed in potable water. Shellfish, soil and sediments are to be placed into clean sealed containers.

Samples for toxin, bacterial and bacteriophage analysis should be collected in sterile glass or hard plastic containers.

All samples are to be transported in air-conditioned or refrigerated vehicles.

Recommended volumes to be collected for viral and protozoan analysis:

Recommended volumes for all other analyses (chemical & bacterial) 1-4 L
